We had such a great time with everyone that came out to sled! The kids were so much fun to watch. Kids just have no fear and endless ENERGY!!!! Except for the parking situation (good thing for strong men and tow ropes) and lost keys :) (good thing for quick prayers answered),,,,we had a BLAST!!!!! We will definately have to make this a winter tradition,,so fun!!!!! Here are some pics from our fun afternoon on the slopes,,,enjoy!!!!

Tonight the four of us went in search of some great sledding slopes!!! Boy did we find some!!! We spent a couple hours flying down the slopes sending squeals of excitement into the air!!!! Maddisen was ALLLLL over it right from the start but Emma took a little convincing to try it. It only took one run down the hill and Emma couldn't get enough!!!!! While we were sledding I told Dusty that we should blow up the inflatable boat that we haven't used in years and take it with us tomorrow. He was all over that so tonight he dug it out of the garage and blew it up!!! Somehow we both remember it being MUCH bigger,,,,hmmm I wonder if it shrunk or,,,,ya I know what your thinking,,,that can't possibly be what happened,,ANYWAY!!! We had so much fun tonight that when we came home we called a bunch of friends in the area and we are going to hit the slopes again tomorrow!!!! Can't wait to rip it up again ! (that was Keith's (AKA Dusty's) comment :) In the last picture Daddy is showing Emma how to lean while sledding,,,,,I like the intense look on your face!!!hahahaha!

Christmas DAY!!

Maddisen came running into our bedroom about 7:30 screaming," he came, he came,, Santa came!!!!" Emma was still snug in her bed with visions of sugar plums dancing in her head (next year we will have to keep Maddisen up even later I guess ;) So we got up while Maddisen woke up her sister with hugs and kisses! Emma came around the corner into the livingroom and said, "Oh MY,,,Oh MY!!!!" Santa had left presents everywhere and stockings filled to the top that were as tall as them!!! Every year Santa leaves the girls a note in his "Santa scribble" and it was fun for Maddisen to be able to read it to us. She was almost all the way through the letter when she stops and says, " Boy, Santa sure needs to practice his writing more!" Too funny!!! We had so much fun spending time together and enjoying each others excitement! Merry Christmas!

The girls are setting out the cookies, milk and carrots for Santa and the Reindeer! Those carrots sure are looking old,,,hope the reindeer don't mind. We'll get you some fresh ones next year!!

I love Christmas morning! Sleepy babies, with sleepy eyes and hearts filled with excitement!!!! Does it get any better?!?!?!

Emma was determined to get EVERYTHING out of her stocking!!!

Kitty Cat Grandma and Tractor Grandpa got the girls pajamas, slippers and house coats. The girls were SO excited to have a new doll in the same matching pajamas as theirs. The girls think the house coats are the best! Even after they got dressed for the day, they still had to put them on over top of their clothes! Silly girls!

Dad really wanted a nintendo wii for christmas so the girls and I decided to trick him and just get him a controller (candy dispencer)! Not sure how impressed he was...:) Maddisen calls the nintendo wii ...a "wii wii" and everytime she does we bust out laughing!!! She goes up to dad and says, "Can we play with your wii wii?" HOW CAN YOU NOT LAUGH!!! (I'm busting up as I'm typing this,,,,TOO FUNNY!!!!)

CHRISTMAS HUGS!!!

This year the girls picked out gifts for each other and helped wrap them. They were SO excited to give their gifts to each other!!!

Whenever I get the chance I try to buy the girls matching outfits. The girls think it is so cool to match and I know that won't last forever!!

Santa spoiled the girls with pink leapsters and a ton of learning games!!! They were beyond excited!!! I love leapster because the girls brains are working while they play. Maddisen was adding and subtracting, reading and building words, while Emma was sounding out words, building patterns and counting! Love that!!!

BUILD-A-BEAR!!!!

Thank you DressUp Grandma and Helicopter Grandpa..........We love you!!!! We decided to go a day early and take the girls to the mall. It was a GREAT day to go because the line was short and everything was in stock!!! The girls were careful to pick out the perfect bears and the prettiest outfits!!! They were BEYOND excited about EVERYTHING that they saw and the girl that helped them truly brought their bear to life!!! After they picked out the bear they wanted, they waited in line to get their bear stuffed. The gal that helped them had the girls warm up the bears heart by rubbing it between their hands, rub the heart on their muscles (to make it strong), on their cheek (to make it beautiful), on their forehead (to make it smart), on their tummy (so it would never be hungry) and on their nose (so it would never be stinky)! Emma thought the stinky part was great. As she walked away with her bear she looks at it and says, "You're never gonna be stinky, right bear?" So funny!!! They gave the bear a "bath" (air coming out of the spray nozzles) and then dressed them in the outfits they picked out. The last thing they needed to do was make a birth certificate for their bear and give it a name,,Maddisen called hers Isabelle Lily and Emma chose Sarah. What a FUN day! The girls will remember it for a very long time!!! As we were leaving Maddisen said, "Now that was COOL!!!" The girls and I made a deal that we would donate all their other stuffed animals to kids who need a bear to love! The girls thought this was a great idea!!! I love you my little sweethearts!!!

Today is started snowing and has not stopped!!! I have been waiting for it to snow enough that I could break out the snowball blaster guns I bought at Costco a month ago (early christmas present for the family...mostly so us girls could take Daddy DOWN!!!) We hid behind the shrubs infront of the front door and I shot a few snowballs at the door so Dad would come out. When he opened the door we got him good!!!! HAHAHAHA!!! My little snow angels love playing in the snow!!!!!

Santa Claus is Comin' To.....(The Mall)

Today we went to the mall to see Santa! The girls were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited to see him. The snow was coming down like crazy and so we took our time getting to the mall. When we got there no one was in line to see Santa so we had him all to ourselves for at least 5-7 minutes!!!! The girls couldn't get enough of him. Emma even had to try out the beard to see if it was real,,PHEW IT WAS!!!! (Well maybe not phew for Santa's sake,,,:)0 ) Just as we were about to leave Maddi turns around and says, "I love you Santa!" and give him a HUGE hug!!! Emma followed with another big hug for Santa. WE LOVE YOU SANTA!!!

Family Movie Day!!!

One of the things we had planned for the Christmas break is a movie day! Today we decided to go see Bolt (3D version). The girls and I had never been to a 3D movie before so that was exciting for all of us. It was such a CUTE movie and the girls thought it was SO COOL to wear black glasses in the theater! Don't they look so cute in their matching sweaters and black shades!?!?!?!

School Christmas Concert

Today Maddisen's school had their Christmas concert. All of the classes did a great job. Maddisen was so excited to have Emma, Daddy and I come to watch her sing! Emma and I came early to have lunch with her since I had the day off from preschool and we wanted to make Maddisen feel special! We love you big girl!!

Well I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later being that Emma Dilemma lives here!!! I walk into the playroom after coming up from my last class to find a soaking wet Island Princess barbie (newly renamed Survivor Barbie), a pair of green preschool scissors and bunches of blonde hair. Not only did she cut her barbie dolls hair but she then decided her and her friends needed a bath (dad forgot to drain the water in the tub last night). Next to this are 4 soaking wet barbie dolls. Emma walks in and sees that I have found her naughty work! I tell her that barbie looks so sad because she cut all her hair off and Emma picks her up and says, "I'm so sorry barbie! I'm sad too cause now I'm in big twouuble! It'll be okay barbie, right mama?" It took me a moment to respond,,,,,Emma has been on this naughty kick the past week. I tell her it won't grow back, and that if she cuts off all her barbie dolls hair they will be sad and won't want to play with her anymore. She says, " I pwomise, I pwomise mama I won't cut anymore hair 'cause I love my barbie friends!!!" We'll see how long that lasts,,,,WE ARE HIDING THE SCISSORS (at least till we get some cute Christmas pictures!)!!!! Good thing you're stinker cute Emma!!!

The girls were REALLY excited to get the tree up and decorated!!!! They are both old enough to help with all the decorations and are very concerned about having a special looking tree for Santa to see when he comes in "four days" as Emma says! First we had to decorate ourselves (Maddisen you are such a character!) and then it was time to hit the tree!

Emma:"I dunno....which ones?"

Mom: "The only pair you have,,,the purple ones,,the ones that keep your toes warm."

Emma:"Oh,,,,I know!" (Emma goes and gets the boot and brings it over and says, " I was saving my fish for later and wanted them to stay warm."

Mom: (I look at her like she is crazy and I have no idea what she is talking about,,,then she turns the boot upside down and it all makes SENSE!!!!)

Emma: "See Mom, good idea huh?"

Mom:" I love you Emma! But lets not eat those ones,,we'll get some new ones!"

First Snow

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! The weather was GREAT!!! It was so much fun to watch the little ones on our street run from door to door with our girls, tricking and treating as they went!!! I guess I needed to be a red and black witch this year to fit in with our family color scheme:) We went to a couple other neighborhoods and then spent some time visiting with our Utah grandparents (We love you Grandpa Rex and Grandma "forofy" (Dorothy)). We then came back, cuddled up and watched spooky movies!! Hope you all had a safe and happy halloween!

Boo at the ZOO!!!

Today we went to trick or treat at the hogle zoo!!! We had a blast looking at the animals, people watching (everyone was dressed in a costume) and of course getting treats. We ended the day with a ride on the carousel before heading home! We have had a fantastic fall, with great weather and LOADS of fun things to do!!! We love spending time together, no matter where we go!!!

A couple weeks ago the girls asked me if we could make a girl ghost. My first question was, "Do girl ghosts look different than boy ghosts????" (that could have DEFINATELY backfired) Maddisen replies, "Of course mom, girl ghosts wear pink bows in their hair!!! "(PHEW!!!) So for the next two weeks I am sweating over how to make a girl ghost! After some much needed inspiration from the pumpkin patch, I begin creating her. I was just finishing up when Maddisen walks by and says, " Oh she's the cutest girl ghost I've EVER seen!" (YES!!! Mom did something right!!!) Oh but wait,,,it gets better! She then proceeds to tell me that, "we need a boy ghost so they can kiss each other on the cheek!" And now you know where baby ghosts come from!! HAHAHAHAHA!!

Today I thought it would be fun to enjoy the great weather and make ghosts with my girls and dad. As you can see it was fun and messy!!! Is there a better combination?!?!?! We made footprint ghosts by stepping into white paint and then onto black paper. In the last picture Emma is holding Maddisen's hand to help her so she won't fall over,,,,boy do I love these girls!!!!! They sure do make BOOtiful little ghosts!!!!!

The Scarecrow Festival!!!

Today the four of us went to the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point. We had such a fun time taking pictures, going through the haunted house and of course jumping and sliding! The girls and I went to the pumpkin patch today to spend some much needed time together having fun!!! Yes, as some of you might be thinking,,,that makes THREE trips to the patch in one week,,(has to be some kind of world record!!!:)) We had SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun together, and the pictures turned out stinker cute!!! Emma was so funny. She went around hugging and kissing the pumpkins and talking to them. I sure am spoiled have two beautiful little sweethearts!!!!

We had a TON OF FUN at Cornbellies last night. We spent about 4 hours jumping, dressing up, milking cows, pumping water, shooting corn and going on a hay ride! The girls wanted to go through the giant blowup dinosaur just as it was starting to get dark. It is completely dark inside and you have to use your hands to find your way through! When you get inside you are walking through the dinosaurs "insides" (past the heart, through the lungs,etc.) and then he basically poops you out the other end!!!!! As you can see by Emma's expression she was scared and didn't mind being pooped out as long as she got out of there!!! The Pumpkin princess was soooo cute with girls, telling them about how she had to plant all the pumpkin seeds and take care of the pumpkin patch! Oh and look closely at the picture of Maddisen milking the cow,,,notice her dripping NOSE!!! HAHAHA She needs a little more practice at milking cows!!!! What a fun night!!!

The girls started dance today. They LOVED every moment of it! The teacher was SUPER cute with the girls (they are in different classes but have the same teacher.) Emma was adorable,,I mean how cute is her my little pony panties peaking out of her dance suit!

SO CUTE!!!! Maddisen had a fun bunch of girls in her class. She paid attention and tried hard to follow the teacher. It was cute to see her lefthanded side come out! GO GIRLS!!!

On Labor Day weekend, we took the Front Runner to Ogden......no that wasn't a typo,,,,,we meant to go there,,,hahahaha,,,,,,,don't judge us before you hear how the trip went,,,:).......The train ride was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun,,,,,,the girls absolutely LOVED it and ask if we can go ride it again almost every day now. We parked at Salt Lake Central and then rode the train to Ogden (about 1 hour). We ate a bagged breakfast/lunch on the train and the when we arrived we boarded a little trolley car that is free and takes you around Ogden. You can get off at any stop and comes by each stop every 20 minutes or so all day long (at least on Saturdays). We arrived in time to catch the market in the park and then walked the streets checking out all the horses. If you have never been to Ogden you NEED to go with your kids! The train museum is AMAZING! You can climb on all the trains,,,tour some of the cars,,,, train museum,,,,etc. From there we went to this great restaurant for lunch and then off to the Treehouse. The Treehouse is like the Childrens Museum in Salt Lake but we thought it was way more fun and half the price. We spent almost 4 hours there and then walked over to Farr's Ice Cream Shop,,,mmmmmmmmmmmmm! We walked back to catch the Front Runner home and the girls collapsed on the ride back! GO OGDEN!!!!!

Swiss Days 2008

We had a great time at Swiss Days! The weather was perfect, along with lots to see and do! There are way too many YUMMY things to eat and fun things to buy!!!! Of course we had to have a scone,,,they are naughty good!!!! And how can you walk buy the cinnamon roasted nuts,,,well you can't as you can see in the picture!!!!!

First Week of School

Maddisen's first week of school was all that she had dreamed it would be! She was disappointed when the weekend came and counted down the days when she would get to return to school. It has been a HUGE adjustment for me,,,,with only having one at home during the day. Emma and I find ourselves thinking and talking about her throughout the day and wondering what she is doing, what great things she is learning, have others been nice to her?,,,,,,I guess just hoping for another great day for her at school!!! I think the past week Maddisen may have been bombarded with what she may think of as "TOO mmuch lovin'!" from Emma and me,,,but she never let on that she had had enough of the kissin' and the huggin' when she came running off the bus back into our arms! First Day of 1st Grade- BIG GIRL STYLE!!!

This was one of the most mixed up days I have had emotionally. The past week has been hard trying to find it in my heart to "let go" of my Maddisen. I want her to have fantastic experiences and learn and be all she can be, but could she just not grow up so darn fast????? :) Well we started the morning off with a late start, but maybe that was for the better so I didn't have a chance to get toooooo MUSHY before setting her off into the world!!! She requested a home lunch (that made me feel special,,,,I'm sure that feeling will not be there some mornings when we are late for school) and had an outfit set out the night before. She was excited to see all her friends, but had to keep reminding her last year friends that she was Maddisen (because of the hair cut). Her teacher not only helped Maddisen, but myself as well feel comfortable. Maddisen asked if I would come eat lunch with her today so OF COURSE I joined her. When she entered she already had made new friends and they were hand in hand in the lunch line because they both had Tinker Bell lunch bags,,,so cute!!! I watched her as she ran out to recess feeling like we both were going to have a great year!!!! I love you Maddisen and I will be here waiting for you to get home from school to tell me all about your day!!!!

Maddisen's New Hair Cut!

Maddisen has never had her hair cut except for a trim every once in awhile. This was a HUGE deal for Maddisen because she got to go to the hair salon and sit in the chair!!!! She has wanted her hair cut for the longest time now and I finally figured it was time. It turned out stinker cute and I think it will be easier to handle in the mornings. My little girl is growing up WAY too fast!!!!

Swimming Lessons

This week the girls are taking swimming lessons. The girls are learning SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much and are so excited to practice their newly learned skills. Dad was able to take time off and take them today while I finished teaching the last reading class of the summer. Maddisen jumped off the diving board TWICE today!! SO PROUD!!! Emma is such a cute little fishy, doing everything the bigger kids do without fear! The family teaching the girls are absolutely fantastic and the pool is gorgeous!!! We will definately be back next year!!!

Kangaroo Zoo

I went to costco in Orem today after a great morning at Kangaroo Zoo with my girls. The strawberries looked so fantastic I couldn't pass them by. Chocolate covered strawberries are my ULTIMATE weakness,,,,,oh yummmmmmmmmmoooooooooooooo!!!! I guess that is why I always make them for dessert for others,,,then of course I make a few extra,,,naughty,but oh so yummy! Anyway,,,,good thing for the new member on the street (baby Box),,,,I get to make my favorite and not feel tooooo guilty about having one or two myself!!!:) So ladies, fess up...what is your weakness? What is the one thing you can't pass by without having a nibble,,,,thought it would be a fun way to learn one more thing about each other!

Here is how I make them for all of you that have asked!
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
The trick to chocolate covered strawberries,,,ONLY USE MILK CHOCOLATE Chips!!! I use the Sam's Club brand @ walmart. Wash your strawberries and let them dry or pat dry each one to remove all moisture. Then just melt the chips in the microwave stirring every 45 seconds until melted,,,,dip strawberries and place on waxed paper lined cookie sheet. Place in the fridge until hard and ENJOY!!!

We just completed the last of the painting!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! Mom, you were with me in spirit,,,I felt you whispering all your little painting tips in my ear the whole time,,,can't wait for you to come and see how it turned out. Tomorrow we will give the room the finishing touch,,,crown molding,,,gorgeous!!!! What a big job it was to get the office completed from start to finish in exactly two weeks. Yahooooo we did it!!! Sorry, I'm a little excited,,can you tell????? This is Spencer Larsen (Brent Larsen's son) installing the carpet! They are the sweetest family, and did such a great job!!! The girls called the new office their dance studio,,,NOT!!!!! I will post one last picture of the office in full completion after everything is moved in,,,,and we thought the work was over,,,hahahahaha!!!

Construction Update #2

The mudding is complete, along with priming. The only thing left in the painting department is to roll on the second coat of browny/tan. Then up goes the crown molding, and on go the outlet covers. Keith will put up the fan/light tonight. Carpets will be installed Wednesday afternoon or Friday morning at the latest. YAHOOOOOOOOO!! Then moving day!!!! It is looking fantastic, and I feel spoiled to be able to have such a beautiful room to spend time in! Thanks for all the hard work sweetheart!

So let me explain,,,,I'm already laughing! The girls and I ran some errands today and ended up at Macy's in Orem to grab a few things for dinner. Emma was tired and layed down in the cart for a quick nap. I was focusing on getting everything we needed and piling the groceries on the top portion of the cart (the seat part). All of a sudden I hear Maddisen say, "uh oh this does not look right Mom!" I walk around the cart and there is emma,,,dress up to her waist,,,legs spread COMPLETEY apart, sleeping on her back,,,,,,I have no idea how long she had been in this position but we definately passed other shoppers along the way. I will have to share this story with her later in life and now it is officially documented. So the moral of the story is,,"don't leave home without your panties!" Hahahaha!

Construction Update

Within the past week we have framed, pulled the electrical (thanks for the help Josh!!!), and hung the sheet rock in the office. Rick The Rocker is our amazing mudder and he started the mudding on Tuesday afternoon. Rick has done a few houses in the area, and did the preschool for us. He does such an amazing job, and really loves what he does. If you EVER need a mudder he is the man for the job!!! (Just call me for his info!) We have also completed the hardest job of all,,,,picking out the carpet and the paint color. The best part is my husband and I agreed right from the start which made it that much easier. We are trying to get the office done as quickly as possible so I can get back to preschool prep for this coming year and start decorating for "back to school". There are 4 steps to mudding and we have completed stage 2 as of today. Tomorrow Rick will do texture,,CAN'T WAIT!!! He will complete the job on Saturday which is a final sanding. I will then roll on the primer Saturday night/Sunday and paint Monday/ Tuesday. The carpet will be layed at the end of the week and I can then move in to my new OFFICE!!!! It has been really fun completing the office and we both can't wait to get started on the theater.

It is difficult to see the true color, but is it a medium tan. We wanted to go a little darker, instead of lighter. If it turns out too dark then we will add crown molding in white and make the room pop! I think it is going to be beautiful!!!

It is hard to tell, but it is a plush carpet with tan and brown specks. It feels so nice on the piggies! (Emma said it made her piggies feel nice:))

My husband and I decided to finish the back two rooms downstairs. The first room is about 12 x 12 and it will be my OFFICE!!! I am SOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited to have all my preschool "stuff" in one room, along with my computer and copier. It won't be extravagant looking with huge shelving units lining the walls, but it is going to make me SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more organized,,,which I need with me teaching four classes beginning in the fall. The second room is going to make my husband's dream come true. We are going to build a theater in there. We have some amazing ideas for it that we have been tossing around and we think we have come up with a plan. It will have two levels of seating, crown molding, lush carpet, etc. I don't want to give away all the details,,,, you'll all just have to come over for a movie and check it out for yourself!!!! It will take us some time to piece it all together and finish it, but we hope the building aspects will be completed by the end of August and then we will buy furniture and things to go in it throughout the fall. Here is a look at the progress so far!!!!

Ice Cream + Fireworks = FUN !!!!

On July 4th we parked on a side road above the freeway by Thanksgiving Point and ate ice cream and watched the fireworks show. The show was 30 minutes long and we had the PERFECT view of the fireworks. We look forward to next year!

Keeping cool by the stream!

Emma is playing a medieval game with a little girl.

The girls enjoyed playing all the games and going on the rides! (The rides were MAN powered, not electric!)Maddisen was even brave enough to go on rides with others she didn't know.

The fairies played games with the girls and taught them a fairy dance that they performed at the tea party with the others in their group.

During the tea party the fairies read the girls a fairy story. The girls absolutely loved every moment!

After the tea party, they waited their turn to have their tea cup potted with lavender sprouts. They were so patient, especially Emma!

The Lavender fairy gave Maddisen and Emma some magic fairy dust and told them to close their eyes, make a wish and then blow!

Each year we go down to Mona, Utah for Lavender Days. The tea party with the fairies is definately the highlight for the girls! This year they had a bunch of new rides and exhibits. We went with some great friends of ours and had a blast!!

We were lucky enough to have Auntie Billy and Uncle Steve stop in twice over the past week on their way to and from Zions. The girls absolutely adored the two of them and followed them around the whole time they were here. We had a such a great visit with them both times and wished they lived closer!!! Maddisen graduated from kindergarten today! Congrats sweetheart! We are sooo proud of you and all that you have accomplished this year. The graduation was wonderful with beautiful singing, a slideshow and smiles from all! Maddisen is sure going to miss her teacher, friends and all the fun things she did in kindergarten. She loves learning and loved going to school EVERY day!!! The other day we were eating lunch and talking about school. Maddisen turned away as we were talking about her teacher and turns back with big crocodile tears rolling down her cheeks and says, " But Mom, Mrs. Christensen has my heart and so I need to stay in kindergarten forever with her!" Well of course I started crying and we just held each other and talked about how much we love her teacher. WAY TO GO MADDISEN!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!!

School Dance Vegetable (Festival)

Maddisen's kindergarten class participated in the school dance festival today. Maddisen told us last night that she was so excited about dancing at the dance vegetable, that she didn't know if she would be able to fall asleep! Emma is just amazing at puzzles! She was so excited to get a new one from Grandma and Grandpa. She had it whipped out in no time!

Tonight we had a family birthday party for Emma, Maddisen and Dad. We all had fun celebrating together as a family with Grandma and Grandpa here to join us! It was too funny because Emma is turning 3, Maddisen is turning 6 and Keith will be 36. Too funny! The Richardson family has a birthday tradition that we have continued to partake in every birthday. After blowing out the cake, the birthday boy or girl (regardless of age) has to take a bite of the cake, designating the piece of the cake they want. Usually someone is holding the cake, and somehow the cake seems to rise as the person is taking a bite! Yes, you guessed it,,,,,cake in the face! We didn't have to ask Emma twice,,,,she was in for seconds! Maddisen was all over the swipe and lick!Of course, Grandma and Grandpa spoiled the two girls and we had a great time with them!

We had a wonderful day with Dressup Grandma and Helicopter Grandpa! We went to the Living Planet Aquarium and then went out for lunch. The girls had a BLAST checking everything out. Maddisen was a little nervous about touching the underwater creatures where as Emma was right in there touching and poking! What a great way to spend their last day here before heading home! We will miss you guys, but thanks for the great visit!

We had a fun time at our preschool luau! Emma was tickled to get the have 2 parties in 1 day!!! It was a little bitter sweet saying goodbye for the summer, but it helped knowing they would all be back in the fall for one more year of preschool. Maddisen was able to join us for the second party when she got home from kindergarten. The girls especially enjoy the party days! Emma was so excited about the grass skirt that she wouldn't take it all the way off to go potty and so she shuffled the whole way to the bathroom! So cute!!!

Maddisen has become quite the little gardener. Just like Kitty Cat Grandma taught her, she waters each plant gently and says, "Here you go babies!" (in a soft kind voice) SOOOOOO CUTE!!!!! Makes me think of my mom everytime I'm with my girls in the yard working. Even Emma says it now because Maddisen told her the plants won't grow beautiful if you don't talk to them "Grandma said so!" My husband surprised me with a window box for the house. I have wanted one for a few years but couldn't find one big enough for the front window. He gave it to me early so I could plant all my flowers! Oh I cannot WAIT to see my flowers start dripping over the edge,,,oh YAHOOOOOOOO SPRING!!!! HELLO SUMMER!!!!!!!! The girls and I were in flower heaven at the nursery yesterday! So many bright colors, the smell of DIRT (I love that smell - must be the farm girl in me!) and the excitement of everything around you GROWING!!!! The only thing missing at the nursery was my MOM!!! I loaded up the wagon with the beginnings of my baskets and headed home to plant with my girls! Who would have thought, the girl who ONLY wears black LOVES COLOR!!!!! My color of choice- PINK!!!!!! Yes Dad, you read it right,,,,,,,I'm in love with PINK!!!

It's Finally Here!!!

Our long awaited playground finally arrived today.HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLS!!!! Thank goodness it came with installation for the most part (except the gang plank) or I'm sure it would have taken weeks to build! Emma walked into the playhouse and said, " Oh,,,my,,,gosh!" It was so cute! I would have thought the two girls would be sliding down the slide together, one on each slide,,,nope! I look over and here they are snuggled up together and going down together on one slide! Such good friends! It will be soooo fun to see them turn "pink" from all the exercise and fun! The swing set should be here in the next week or so and then we will spend the summer playing!!!!

We have had the COOLEST moths flying around our flowering snow cherry tree. You will have to look closely to see them! I will try and get a better picture over the next couple of days/evenings. Every night we have stood and watched them feed on the nectar,,,,at first I thought they were humming birds because they are so fat! The girls just love to stand beside the tree and see them up close! We hope they stick around awhile!

This in INCREDIBLE!!!! A definate must see!!!!!!! As we were driving we had to stop for a cattle drive. The girls were jumping out of their seats with excitement over all the new born calves,,,I was a little more preoccupied by the COWBOYS!!!! Dead Horse Point was even more breathtaking then we had heard. We felt like we were on top of the world! The wind was blowing up there, so we hung on tight to our little ones (We are looking a little wind blown)!

Day 3 Hole N' The Rock

Today we went to the Hole N' The Rock and Canyonlands. The Hole N' The Rock took a family about 15 years to compelete and is located in a rock literally. It is about a 5,000 square foot home with bedrooms, livingroom, guest room, kitchen and diner. We were not allowed to take any pictures inside the home but we bought a mini book to share with you all. It was really cool to go on the tour because everything is still the same as it was when they lived there! You can see the windows and doors towards the bottom of the picture to give you an idea of width. The tour guide wasn't quite "all there" but I think it added to the ambiance :) You must go ONCE in your life!!! Hey, what kind of gas mileage do you think that jeep would get? :)

Day 2 Sanddune Arch

This was Maddisen and Emma's favorite arch. We ditched our shoes at the entrance and headed on in for fun in the SAND. The sand is incredibly soft and the arch is found between rock walls. It is like no other rock formation in the area,,,just fantastic. We played there for at least an hour, digging in the sand and climbing the walls.

Day 2 The Arches

We ate a yummy breakfast and then headed out for a day of hiking! We had no idea what to expect and little did we know we were in for an amazing surprise!! BREATH TAKING!!! Day 1 Archway Inn

When we arrived at the hotel the girls said, "That wasn't very far!" Great little travelers we have! We checked into our executive suite (that was all that was available when I booked the hotel) and were very surprised!! Jetted tub, couch, king and queen beds, two T.V's! Oh and of course Emma was the first to find the telephone next to the POTTY, "Mamma look, we can call grandma and papa when we go potty!" So CUTE!!!! (we had to watch the little stinker when she was in the bathroom) The place was beautiful and girls were ready to just soak it all in,,,pool and all!!! Oh ya,,keith and I were pretty darn excited too!

DAY 1Price: Dinosaur Museum

We drove to Price and then stopped for lunch and a trip to the dinosaur museum. The girls had a great time checking things out and diggin' for bones!!! Dad almost got eaten by a T-rex!!!! Good thing the girls were there to save him!

Moab Family Trip-

During spring break we went to Moab, Utah for two nights/three days. We had soooooooooooooooooooooo much fun and can't wait to share our trip with you! The girls were AMAZING little hikers and couldn't wait to go on the next venture! Emma is such a dare devil that we really had to watch her up on the rocks and edges. Fear didn't stop either of them so we had to keep reminding them not to touch the lizards, spiders or snakes! These two were a blast!!!!

Sisters and Best Friends!

We are sisters and best friends! Each day the girls seem to grow closer not only as sisters, but as friends. They play SO well together and take care of each other. Maddi is there when Emma needs a helping hand and Emma is there to give Maddi kisses. They will play petshop or dolls for hours and the only thing I can hear from the other room is giggling and soft voices. You are the loves of my life and I truly know what special love sisters share because you show me each and everyday!

Today we went to the zoo with our close friends. We were not sure if the weather was going to cooperate or not but we headed out in the morning for a fun day! The girls had a BLAST!!! Emma was in awe of all the different animals,,,especially the elephants!!!! She kept saying, "So big mama!" All of the animals were out and the crowds were just right! We ended the outing with the last train ride(just happened to catch it in time) before it snowed and they closed the train for the day. The entire day was fabulous and we will definately be returning in the near future!!! Thanks for all the fun girls!

NEW CAMERA!!!

This weekend we went in search of a new camera for our trip to Moab this coming week. The old camera has been wonderful thus far but when I have to wait between pictures for it to process,,,just not cuttin' it! We decided to get something that will last us many years to come so we decided on a camera that we could buy different lenses for, but was still digital! Within the first 30 minutes we had snapped over two hundred pictures,,,OH SO FUN!!!!! The coolest part about the camera is that when I push the button it snaps the pics INSTANTLY,,,do you know how many pics I could take in ten seconds,,,I love technology!!!!! Okay, so I'm a little excited about the camera,,,,all I can say is those dang tulips better start blooming at Thanksgiving Point because here we come!!!!

Maddisen had crazy hair day at school on Friday. We decided to put her hair up in four "nubs" and then had leaves and flowers growing out of them. Maddisen had fun watching all the kids and their new hair dos for the day! Next year we'll be even more adventurous!!!

Maddisen was hungry for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and asked if she could make it! OF COURSE, Dad jumped right on that on and set her to work. She got out the peanut butter and Kitty Cat Grandma's raspberry jelly (Maddisen LOVES her jelly and always asks if that is what I'm putting in her sandwich when I make it). She had a little trouble with the runaway jelly but was yumming it up when she sat down to eat. That girl of ours is SO much fun! It makes it easier to move past the baby stage when it is so much fun to be with them at the stage they are now! She sang the peanut butter and jelly song as she licked the last bit of jelly off her plate! YUM!

This past weekend we were given a trampoline by some friends of ours! It was really kind of them to think of us first and the girls absolutely LOVE it!! The girls are very patient about having to wait until preschool is over to jump on it! (Preschoolers are not allowed to jump on the trampoline for safety and liability reasons.) Even I can't help but get on and play,,,brings back fun memories of growing up! (My mom and dad had one shipped from another province for us kids when we were little,,,,I think I'm a "little" rusty on my flips but I can still do a mean belly flop!!!)

On Thursday morning I was running a bit late and was fed up with doing Emma's hair in the morning!(She is a morning MONSTER to put it nicely!!!!) SOOOOO, I got out some preschool scissors and decided I would solve the situation!!! Okay is does sound kinda overboard as I'm sitting here typing this but I had had enough!!!!! I cut off about 2 inches! I wasn't sure what I was really going for but by the time I had it somewhat even things were getting easier by the inch!!! Thank goodness (for Emma's sake mostly,,,hahaha!) it turned out STINKER CUTE!!!! Her little cow lick (okay very pronounced cow lick) at the front is perfect for keeping her hair swept out of her face and even more perfect for clips!!!! The little bob cut just makes her even more scrumptious!!!!

Leprechaun Trap!

Here are pictures of the trap she made with her friend. The idea is that leprechauns apparently don't follow instructions very well and will do the opposite they are told. So with this in mind they made a sign that said "DON'T GO IN". Once the leprechaun climbs up the ladder he will fall through a flap door and land in a pot of gold with green wooden beads in it and get stuck in there. Quite BRILLANT:) She decided to put it near a hole in the wall downstairs because she thought she heard giggling coming from within. (Leprechaun giggles of course!) I guess we will see if it works!

We had a great day filled with leprechaun tricks and traps!!! Maddisen has spent the whole week worried about the leprechauns and all of the traps she has seen being brought to school. With tears in her eyes she said,"Mama, I don't want anyone to catch the leprechauns and hurt them. We all need to be nice to those little guys!" Well today after her St. Patrick's party at kindergarten she was whistling a different tune! She and her friend across the street were going to make a leprechaun trap!!! Hahahaha! So funny! DISNEYLAND!!! We are in the process of planning our disneyland trip. We are planning on going in the fall of this year (we are thinking around end of November to beginning of December). We would like to go for a week and just take our time and enjoy each other! We would love ANY tips you can offer,,,from hotels (not sure,, might have someone to stay with for all or part of the time), plane tickets, how much to pack in, seaworld, shows or events worth seeing, etc..........PLEASE HELP!!!! Maddisen has ALWAYS been my little dress up girl. We even have a Grandma called "Dress Up" Grandma because she sews Maddisen and Emma dress up clothes. What would I do without Grandma? Maddisen is quite upset about our makeup rule at home: Makeup is only for dress up. I have to say, Maddisen makes me want to be a better girl! (I have no idea how I wound up with such a girly girl!) We love her creativity and imagination!

A month ago we bought the "airplane" from Costco to add to the playground equipment. I figured today was so beautiful, why not put it together and surprise the preschoolers. Maddisen and Emma were right there by my side, helping to try and figure out how the stinkin' thing goes together. Next time I'll ask if I can buy the display!

I can't seem to get to sleep tonight, and I am sitting here thinking about preschool. What's new? Over the past two years I have been able to touch SO many lives with my love for teaching. I was talking with my mom the other night about how incredible my "job" is. I find it hard to call it a job, when I love what I do so intensely. I am SPOILED to teach in the environment I teach in, the families are absolutely incredible in SO many ways, and my little love bugs have got my heart in their back pocket! Everyday each of you thank ME for the great job I am doing with your little one. Well, now it is MY turn to thank all of you for your love and support! I can't begin to tell you how blessed I am to have the opportunity to teach your child and have each of you apart of my preschool family! I can honestly say, I bet I have been hugged over a million times! It will be incredible to look back later on in life and remember "my preschool years".

To make a long story short, I was asked to bring a large bag of fruit loops (seperated into baggies of different colors) into Maddisen's kindergarten class by Thursday (100th day of school). That morning Maddisen wakes up and I say "good morning sweetheart, guess what today is?" AND THEN IT HITS ME,,OHHHHH NO!!!! So I call Allison across the street, explaining that I haven't even bought the cereal, let alone seperated it into baggies. She laughs, and lovingly says, "bring the girls over here and go get the cereal and I'll separate them for you." What a friend! I run the girls over to her house and within 13 minutes I have the cereal and I am back. Emma had not had a chance to eat with all of the morning trauma. Allison gave me a huge metal bowl to dump the bag into. Emma had come over to the table as I was pouring the cereal into the bowl and sat down next to me. I dumped the bag in and began to walk away when Emma says "I need milk Mama!" I was laughing so hard! She LOVES cereal, but who knew she loved it that much!

The other night Maddisen and Emma were playing pirates downstairs in the preschool. Keith was in the backroom on the computer within hearing distance. The two of them were playing great, talking back and forth like pirates. The pirates were trying to find the gold chest and a "bad guy came by" and so Maddi yells out (in a pirate voice) "Arghhhh, cut him in half like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich." It is so much fun watching her grow!

During the last few minutes of preschool Emma went up stairs to wait for me. During this time, she apparently found a large bag of Cheetos and decide to finish the bag. When I came up stairs, I found her sitting on a chair with an orange mouth and hands. She looks up at me and says, "Sheetos are all gone Mama, all gone!" She was too cute, how could I say anything else but "Where's the camera?"

Mom, can we go out and play? PLEASEEEEEE!!!

The girls have been asking to go out and play in the snow the last couple of days. In between storms we were able to get out and have some fun in the snow! My little snow angels were so much fun! I guess the snow isn't THAT bad!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! My mom and dad were here for two and a half weeks. We couldn't have asked for anything more! Maddi and Emma were glued to the two of them the entire time. I can still hear Emma asking Grandpa where he was going EVERY time he needed to use the bathroom. It took some getting used to, as my dad and mom are used to going potty alone and with the door CLOSED (hahaha Too funnny!! Emma hasn't quite got the privacy part down! :)) Oh what would that be like, to potty alone?????? (I'll keep you posted as to when or IF that ever happens!) Anyway, on the topic of potty, Emma decided over Christmas that she was ready to be a big girl and go potty like her big sister. About a week before Christmas I was walking past the bathroom and there was little Emma sitting on the potty. YAHOOOO! I screamed so loud (I was very excited!) that I scared her and she almost fell in. We went to the store the next day to buy her princess panties (she picked them out) and potty treats. She loved the panties so much, and couldn't decide which pair to wear, she came walking out with all 3 pairs on. She is always sharing a giggle with us! Maddisen was so much fun over Christmas. She loves to bake and help in the kitchen. Grandma showed Maddisen and I how to make bread. I can honestly say I made some really great tasting bread. When I'm feeling lonely for my mom it will be nice to bake a batch of her bread. The smell of homemade bread just makes me feel like I'm home. She brought jars of pickled beets (my favorite!!!) and homemade raspberry jelly made from the raspberry bushes on the farm. They also brought some Canadian treats with them, Mr. Big chocolate bars (Keith's favorite) and KETCHUP chips (SO GOOOOOOOD!) It was so much fun to just spend time with our family! We wish they could of stayed longer (as Maddi would say "you can stay and sleep in my bed forever and ever"). We miss them and look forward to the next time!
